Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 10, 2026
Introduction
CamoHelper ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our real-time AI-powered interview assistant, including our desktop application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access the Service. This policy should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Service.
Information We Collect
We collect several types of information to provide and improve the Service. The categories of information we collect are described below.
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and name as provided through Google OAuth or email registration. This information is used for authentication, account management, and to communicate with you about the Service.
Payment Information
Payment processing is handled entirely by our payment processor, Paddle. We do not store credit card numbers, bank account details, or any other financial credentials. We receive only transaction confirmations and billing metadata (such as purchase amount and timestamp) necessary to manage your credit balance.
Usage Data
We collect information about how you use the Service, including session duration, session count, feature usage patterns, and credit transactions. This data helps us operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
Audio Data
During active sessions, the Service captures microphone input and system audio in real-time for the purpose of live transcription. Audio data is streamed directly to our speech-to-text provider for processing and is not permanently stored by CamoHelper. Once transcription is complete, the raw audio data is discarded. We retain only the resulting text transcripts as part of your session history.
Resume and Job Data
You may upload resume content and job descriptions to personalize the AI responses generated during your sessions. This content is stored in our database for the duration that your account remains active and is used solely to improve the relevance of the Service's responses.
Device Information
We collect basic device information such as your operating system, app version, and general device identifiers. This information is used for debugging, ensuring compatibility, and improving the performance of the Service across different platforms.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Provide and operate the Service — including real-time transcription, AI response generation, and session management.
- Process payments and manage credits — to handle purchases, apply credits to your account, and maintain accurate billing records.
- Generate personalized AI responses — using your resume content, job descriptions, and session context to deliver relevant interview assistance.
- Improve and optimize the Service — by analyzing usage patterns and identifying areas for enhancement.
- Communicate important notices — including service updates, security alerts, and changes to our policies.
- Prevent fraud and abuse — by monitoring for suspicious activity and enforcing our Terms of Service.
Third-Party Services
We rely on trusted third-party services to deliver the Service. Each third-party provider operates under its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to review them. We share only the minimum information necessary for each provider to perform its function.
Deepgram
Deepgram provides real-time audio-to-text transcription. During active sessions, audio data is streamed to Deepgram's servers for processing. We use temporary API keys that automatically expire after each session, limiting the window of access to your audio data.
OpenAI
OpenAI powers our AI response generation. Transcript context and user-provided content (such as resume text and job descriptions) is sent to OpenAI's API to generate suggested responses during your sessions. We do not send raw audio to OpenAI — only text-based data.
Paddle
Paddle handles all payment processing and billing. All payment credentials and financial data are managed entirely by Paddle. We receive only transaction confirmations and do not process or store payment credentials on our servers.
Supabase
Supabase provides authentication and database services. Your account data, session information, and stored content (resumes, job descriptions) are hosted on Supabase's infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit.
Google provides OAuth authentication for users who choose to sign in with their Google account. We receive your email address and name from Google's OAuth service. We do not access any other Google account data.
Data Retention
We retain your information only for as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy.
- Account data is retained for the duration that your account remains active.
- Audio data is processed in real-time and is not permanently stored. Raw audio is discarded immediately after transcription.
- Session metadata (duration, timestamps, credit usage) is retained to provide your session history and for billing purposes.
- Resume and job description data is retained while your account is active and deleted when you remove it or delete your account.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time through the Settings page in your dashboard. Alternatively, you may request account deletion by contacting us at support@camohelper.com. Upon account deletion, all personal data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.
Data Security
We take the security of your data seriously and implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect it. These measures include:
- All data is transmitted using TLS encryption to protect information in transit between your device, our servers, and third-party services.
- Authentication credentials are stored securely using industry-standard encryption and platform-native secure storage (such as the macOS Keychain).
- Access controls and role-based permissions are enforced on all data, ensuring that users can only access their own information.
- Third-party API keys are temporary and automatically expire, limiting the duration of access to external services.
While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we are committed to promptly addressing any security incidents and notifying affected users as required by applicable law.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Deletion — the right to request deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Data export — the right to export your session history and personal data in a portable format.
- Opt out — the right to opt out of non-essential communications from us.
- Correction — the right to request correction of any inaccurate personal data we hold about you.
To exercise any of these rights, you may use the account management features available in your dashboard Settings page (including account deletion) or contact us directly at support@camohelper.com. We will respond to all verified requests within 30 days.
Cookies and Tracking
We use minimal cookies that are strictly necessary for the operation of the Service, specifically for authentication and session management. These cookies are essential and cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.
We do not use:
- Third-party tracking cookies
- Advertising cookies or ad networks
- Analytics tracking pixels or beacons
- Cross-site tracking technologies
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third parties for marketing purposes.
Children's Privacy
CamoHelper is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 years of age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@camohelper.com.
If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18 without verification of parental consent, we will take immediate steps to delete that information from our servers.
International Users
CamoHelper is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
By using the Service, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States. We will take reasonable steps to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy regardless of where it is processed.
Changes to This Policy and Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a prominent notice on our website prior to the changes taking effect.
Your continued use of the Service after the updated Privacy Policy takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically for the latest information on our privacy practices.
